Alkaline Fractionation and Subsequent Production of Nano-Structured Silica and Cellulose Nano-Fibrils for the Comprehensive Utilization of Rice Husk

The parameters of the alkaline fractionation process were investigated and optimized using a statistical analysis method to simultaneously remove hemicellulose ash from rice husk (RH) concomitantly. After process, residual solid contained high cellulose, recovery yield was enhanced in fractionated liquid hydrolyzate. hemicellulosic sugar (71.6%), de-ashing (>99%), lignin removal (>80%) obtained at reaction conditions 150 °C temperature, 40 min time, 6% (w/v) NaOH concentration. Subsequently, nano-structured silica synthesized black liquor as by-product this process. For production silica, it observed that pH heat treatment temperature significantly influenced textural properties product. In addition, two-stage bleaching residue followed by colloid milling for value-added CNF with attempted. As result, addition 119 g fermentable sugar, 143 high-purity (>98%) surface area 328 m2g?1 273.1 high-functional cellulose content 80.1% 1000 RH.
